About this track:
The first couple lines are old lyrics I had lying around for years. (People, hang on to all those old lyrics!) I dredged it up and it because a sort of angry suburban country love song, wherein a fictional girlfriend berates her songwriter boyfriend (a composite of myself and many others) to get crackin'. (Kind of like I finally had to do to finish this record.)

Yeah, you eat too much. You’re not young by any stretch. It’s time to settle up and settle down.

Maybe one thing’s all you need to think about. And that’s me! This is my brand-new philosophy. You say life’s a moving meditation, well, this is a moving situation. Baby, I move you and you move me.

But it’s like I’m not here. Hey, I’m your true love, look at me now! I can help you simply be now. You’re lookin’ everywhere but in front of you. Here’s your guitar. You’re always saying how you’re an artist. Where’s your art now the goin’s hardest? Write a new song about me and you.

I don’t care if you write about my issues. I got time and I got tissues. I can take your brutal honesty. You say you just can’t get any traction. Clear the fog of your distraction. Save yourself, I love you, can’t you see?

Don’t you want my sweet love? I love you even though you’re crazy. You just gotta breathe now. You’re such a good man, don’t you know? Everybody loves you. You’re smart and capable and sweet, and it’s not your responsibility, to worry about the president, or the 99%. Let’s make this some time well spent. Tomorrow we could meet our end.
